Cisco buys Tribe.net

According to NYT, Cisco Systems plans to buy Tribe.net. But why? What does networking giant Cisco do with Tribe.net, “a mostly forgotten social networking site”, as the New York Times calls it euphemistically? Either Cisco just wanted to dump some money. Or they want to go really big with corporate social networking – quite possible. (Although some think it won’t work…)
